Stand Up To Cancer//Star Wars
- ? Sep 16th 2011I just had the pleasure of attending a screening of 50/50 and I cannot help but sing praises. The film is all together a great feature which touched on so many different and beautiful facets of human life. It is well cast and acted; such a talented and relatable ensemble. The film’s structure as a comedy about a tragedy is not only approached with a fresh take, but is also incredibly sincere. I laughed out loud at the quips between characters, yet also found myself crying harder than I ever have in a theatre. That said, it doesn’t let you wallow - you are brought back to the humor right away. It truly does capture a perfect blend of emotions, highlighting the challenges that everyone faces in life and the people we endure them with.

received a screening pass to see 50/50 (starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen) a month in advance

*sidenote: really love the use of “Carries On” by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros in the trailer.
